DON’T YOU DAIRY
In 2022 a startup bakery specialising in dairy-free alternatives came to me looking to create a unique logo, brand identity and e-commerce site. I took this as an exciting opportunity to build an identity from scratch with someone at the start of their business’ journey. We arrived at the character of Mr Chunks, the physical embodiment of the brand’s tongue-in-cheek name and irreverent style.
After launch, Don’t You Dairy cookies and Mister Chunks could be seen popping up in coffee shops across Dublin and started receiving more and more attention both in the press and on social media.
NAUTILUS ATELIER
Another branding project that I worked on in 2022 was for Irish artist Veronica Canning. In her studio beside the sea in county Wexford she takes inspiration from historical narratives and the natural world and she infuses her eclectic and surreal style into captivating creations on paper and glass. Drawing from her profound love for shells and the sea, the ancient marine mollusc Nautilus emerged as the emblematic symbol for her brand. By pairing it with the term "atelier," a nod to exclusivity and craftsmanship, the brand evokes a sense of prestige and sophistication. With a vision to captivate an upmarket clientele, Veronica sought to craft a brand identity that transcends the ordinary, offering an unforgettable experience from packaging to customer interaction.
CONNECTED DATA PLATFORM
In June 2024 I created a logo for one of the world’s leading multinational alcoholic beverage companies. As part of their “smart manufacturing” initiative, they developed a groundbreaking system which took disparate pieces of data from sensors along their production lines and standardised it to create a centralised location which would give them access to insights that increased efficiency, lowered costs and improved quality. The way I chose to visually communicate this concept was to evoke a sense of a transformation from the disparate, irrational and inconsistent to a standardised, clean, integrated whole. Below you can see a glimpse into my process where I quickly iterated basic sketches, developed the strongest idea and ended up with something that successfully communicated what the client wanted.
